My First Blog Since Jolie is Born

I didn't realized its been awhile since I last wrote, so here I am! Jolie is now 2 months and 2 weeks old and I LOVE her!!! :) I don't think I have openly say that about John ever...hehe. Besides my struggle with her the first four weeks, things got so much smoother since. I soooo wanted to "return" her the first few weeks. To where, I have no idea! But since, she has been such a cutie! All the tears and pain were forgotten when I see her smiling at me every morning when I pick her up from her crib!!! :) Here is a summary of Jolie's highlights...
  • Jolie's signature look...chubby cheeks and a crazy mohawk!
  • She went from having the Cali sun tan and looking like a flip girl (according to uncle henry) to a shade or two lighter.
  • She has been smiling and laughing out loud a lot. She has my smiles, but John's laugh. "ha ha ha...."
  • John sings Lady Gaga to her and of course, I sing children songs!
  • She sleeps in her own room now and she sleeps through the night. Woohooo...
  • She actually enjoys tummy time, but she can not lift her head up entirely just yet. Come on Jojo...you can do it!
  • She grabs onto stuff, sucks on her hands and fingers, blows bubbles, and babbles.
  • She held her own bottle twice! But I don't think ppl believe me and I can't prove it since I was home alone with her when she did it! aaaaaah...
  • When I read to her, she tries to turn the pages! But again, no one believes me. :(
  • She loves taking baths! She thinks she can swim...she moves her arms and legs in her little whale tub.
I think that's all for now...pictures and videos to follow. Or just go to my Facebook!

At 37 Weeks

JoJo is now estimated at 6 lbs 7 oz at 37 weeks and the doctor continues to estimate her arrival weight at 7 and a half lbs.  Doctor told me it can be any day now, but WHEN is it???? Still 11/18?

I started maternity leave this week and I don't plan to go back to work until April! This is by the far the best I have felt during my entire pregnancy! I feel so much for relax and most importantly, my energy level is much higher since I get more rest and naps through out the day. This is great! I am so surprise how much nicer it is to be pregnant w/o work! Woohooo...I am the Housewife of Arcadia! *wink wink*

Nursery Almost Done

I think JoJo's room is almost ready! Daddy John have the crib and dresser put together and Mommy finally have all the bedding matched and washed. We are still waiting for the glider, the matching curtains, and a few others.  Since we can not pant or do much decorating to the wall just yet, I think we are set for Jojo's arrival!!!

At 32 Weeks

We went to the Doctor's in the morning for an ultrasound to estimate JoJo's weight, and she weights 4lbs and 12 ounces so far!  Her estimated weight at delivery should be around 7 and a half pounds.  Although the Doc said that's pretty average, but sure sounds pretty big to me!  No wonder my stomach is sooooooo huge!!!  *Wheeew* not mommy fat. :)

At 28 Weeks

After Wayne's wedding... forgot to take the tummy shot...got too tired!

Daddy's Favorite Booties for JoJo

Since John's "dream" is always to have his "son" (in the future) wear Jordan gear, I was able to find some girlie Jordan booties for JoJo! Aren't they adorable? When I showed him what I bought, John was all SMILES...Well, I still like the little Paul Frank one better.  :) And yes, they are really pink, but as Daddy John said "they are still JORDAN"....

Our First Infant Care Class

We went to the infant care class last night, and it was very informative.  Doesn't Daddy John look sooooo comfy holding the baby doll?!? hehe.... I couldn't stop laughing as John held the baby and swaddled the baby in class!

At 24 weeks

As you can tell from my facial expression, my tummy is huge!!! My doctor told me I am bigger than average ppl at 24 weeks. You think??? We will see if it is all baby or me in a few weeks. John calls me little "Buddha" :(  Besides the obvious, all the pregnancy symptoms are starting to surface...backache, swollen fingers and feet, wobbling like a penguin, itchy tummy and the list goes on and on...BUT I guess overall, everything is still tolerable for now.   The most amazing thing I have experienced so far during the pregnancy has to be the kicking/punching or whatever JoJo is doing inside my tummy.  She has been quite an active baby! She moves non-stop everyday. I think she going to be a busybody like her daddy! :)

It's a Girl! :)

After months of being brainwashed to believe we are having a boy (yes the 99% of you all), I am actually very shocked to find out we are having a girl today! I actually asked the doctor to repeat what we are having!!! Duuuh! But I am very happy to have a girl and went shopping for her right after doctor's visit.  hehehe....On the other hand, John didn't even acknowledged the sex of the baby because he was too traumatized by the ultrasound! He said it was too graphic for him! hehehe...and I have to agree! From the look on his face, I think he will pass out watching me in the delivery room! muahahaha.....

JoJo's First Kick/Punch

I finally experienced JoJo's first movement! I have been feeling a little something here and there for the past week, but I can not be sure it was JoJo who's moving around. I thought maybe it was just gas. But on the night of Father's Day, I felt few strong movements non-stop and I actually saw this little piece of something expanding out of my tummy on the left then on the right side of my tummy. I think JoJo was having a party inside my tummy! I am not gonna lie, it felt sooooo freaky! It felt like something is taking control over my body! hehe...John wanted to feel JoJo's movements, but he never felt it. JoJo started moving again as soon as he goes away. Somebody doesn't like daddy already! hehe :)

JoJo's First Gifts

JoJo's first giraffe pillow from Auntie CK.

...and JoJo's first baby blanket from Auntie Betty.

At 16 Weeks

The baby's body is taking its shape already.  The baby was moving the mouth and the hand constantly when I did the ultra-sound. What an active baby!

My tummy is definitely showing more.  Since I call the baby a he in the morning, and she at night, John wanted to give the baby a nick name until we find out the sex of the baby.  And we decided to call the baby "JoJo".

Tummy at 8 Weeks

Unlike many mommy-to-be, I was showing already at 8 weeks ONLY! Buuuut I think it is just my fat tummy! :(

First Doctor's Visit

Our first doctor's visit was very nerve-wracking!!!  We experienced our first ultra-sound and listened to our baby's first heartbeat.   We learned the baby was in her 7th week already and our expected due date is 11/18/09.  I thought the baby looks like a jelly bean! :)

Bun in the Oven

In the morning of 3/14/09, after multiple pregnancy tests, I am pregnant!  After showing the test result to John, he did his usual giggle "Heehee... am I am really gonna be a daddy soon???!!!" I responded with an "Uuuuh huh!"
